My Grandma turned 80 this week! My Grandma was in town earlier this month and so we were lucky enough to celebrate with her than.
My Grandma has one of the biggest hearts I know. She is strong in her faith and loves going to church. She is always serving others and is someone I look up to. I love you like crazy Grandma!!
The twins turned 8 this week!! I was lucky enough to celebrate with them by going to dinner at Red Robin. With them turning 8 this year they will have both chosen to be baptized into the LDS church and will be baptized July 11th. I love being their Aunt and can’t wait to see what the next year brings for them! Love you boys!
My birthday has come and gone and I could have not asked for a better birthday week. It was busy and fun but low key which was perfect. I only wish I would have taken more pictures! Monday night after work my friend Jeff and Nick took me to dinner at Texas Road House, one of my favorite places!! Tuesday I taught CPR with Jeff which is always fun. That night I had a BBQ with a few close friends over at my friend Jennifer’s house. I even had one of my friends stop by who was on duty at the time which was nice.
Wednesday I went to a movie with my friend Jennifer. It was fun to have a girl’s night!
Thursday (my actual birthday) started off with a text from my BFF right at midnight wishing me a happy birthday. I met up with my sister, mom and nieces for lunch. Then what does a girl like me do, well, I meet up with my dad and donate blood!
After I came home and had a few friends stop by with flowers, cards and chocolate.
For dinner I headed over to my sisters for dinner, cake, ice-cream, and a chance to hang out with the kids.
I feel so blessed to have so many friends and family who showered me with love. So far 34 has been good to me.
A couple of weeks ago Emma turned 5!! My sister lets the kids have a friend party when they turn 5 and then does a small get together for family.
With Emma being 5 I thought it would be fun to list 5 things I love about her.
1. I love her love for horses! Reminds me of how I was at her age.
2. I love her beautiful long hair! Until she was one she really didn’t have much and then bam!
3. Her smile can light up a room
4. I love when she has the moments where she just comes up and gives you a hug.
5. I love watching how happy she is when she dances.
Happy birthday Emma!! Love you!
Christmas Eve I worked until 2 am on Christmas morning. I ran home and got a little sleep before waking up at 6 to get ready and head over to my sisters to watch the kids open gifts. It’s always fun to watch the excitement on the kids faces as they come down the stairs on Christmas morning. I am thankful that I was able to be a part of it.
After my sister and Nick made breakfast and then we headed over to my mom’s for more gifts.
By then I was ready for a nap so I headed home and crashed on the couch. That evening I had to work. The best part of the night was when Dax, one of our ISP drug K9’s came in to wish us a Merry Christmas.
Overall it was a great Christmas and I am thankful for all the family time I was able to get in.
I love Christmas time and the traditions that come with it. Christmas Eve has always been one of my favorites. This Christmas Eve I had to work but for me family time is important and priceless and so I requested to only work a half shift that night.
I started the day by sleeping in, having my best friend stop by with a gift and then dropping by a friend’s house with a gift for her. Next stop was to my mom and Lynn’s house for traditional chili/chowder dinner.
It was SOO good! The chowder she made this year is quickly becoming my favorite.
For dessert my mom made her mouth water hot chocolate fudge to put on peppermint ice-cream.
The kids acted out the nativity…
and later Santa brought them each a book and new PJs.
Before I knew it, it was time to say good night and head into work. While I was at my mom’s it had started to know and while I was a little grumpy about it, it was beautiful and added to the magic of Christmas.
As I pulled into work I had to stop at the police memorial and take a picture of the snow falling around it.
Work was steady and time passed quickly.
Before I knew it Christmas day was here!
Ever since I was little I think one of my favorite traditions of the holidays was my mom making her soft sugar cookies. They are the best sugar cookies I have ever had and just thinking of them makes my mouth water!! On the 22nd she had all the grand-kids come over to help decorate their own, and of course eat one or two.
After everyone curled up to watch a Christmas movie and just enjoy being together.
Austin turned 3 this month! To celebrate my sister had everyone over for dinner and cake at their house. It was fun to see how excited he was to open presents and show everyone the dinosaur on is cake.
Austin still doesn’t speak very much but he is a smart little guy and loves doing puzzles. The one word he loves is “no” and has a very strong little personality.
I love this little guy and I am excited to see who he grows and learns this next year. Happy Birthday Austin!
On December 20th my step brother Brian was married in the Boise Temple to his beautiful new wife Amy. It was a cold raining day but Amy braved the weather for pictures outside the temple. The poor thing looked so cold and so happy.
Afterwards we meet up for a lunch in for the families. It was fun to watch the newlyweds, they looked so happy! That night they had a reception. The clubhouse looked beautiful but my favorite was looking at all their pictures together.
Congrats Brian and Amy!!
This December was recital time and being the good aunt that I try to be I made sure to get to both of them. First up was Emma and her dance recital. It was fun to watch all the little kids dance to different Christmas songs. Emma loves to dance and afterwards kept saying how fun it was.
Second was the twins piano recital. Steph is teaching them this year and is doing a really good job. She teaches around 12 students now so she had two recitals to split the number of students. It was fun to watch the boys play. They each played one song on their own and then a duet with Steph. At the end of the recital Steph played a song as well. I hope they keep it up, I just love music!
